Downtown is the heart of the community. Is yours an asset or a liability?
Many downtowns have successfully stopped decline and have re-energized their community by using the National Main Street Four-Point Approach® to revitalization. Missouri Main Street Connection offers three matching grant programs centered around the Four-Point method to help communities advance their downtown revitalization organizations.
The Affiliate Grant program is designed to help communities form a Main Street program and begin building a successful downtown with new investment, businesses, residents and events celebrating all that makes a downtown the heart of the community. This grant program provides two years of hands-on training with “over the shoulder” guidance and encouragement to help build a strong foundation and get the organization to a running start for long-lasting economic viability for downtown.
People Energizing Places (PEP) Grant
Many communities have built a Main Street “foundation” and are now ready for the next step. The PEP Grant offers more advanced training to increase effectiveness and sustainability. This new two-year program provides individualized training, focused initiatives for sustained revitalization, and technical expertise designed to advance the Main Street organization’s downtown development.
Strategic Teams Engaging Places (STEP) Grant
Sustaining a Main Street organization can be challenging. The STEP Grant will catapult your organization to the next level through expert guidance and training to create real change in your revitalization efforts. This one-year program will help get everyone involved on the same page, identify smart growth strategies, and create a detailed plan of action to advance the Main Street revitalization organization to the next level.
