LOCATION

DESCRIPTION
This presentation will define the elements that make up strong stores and experiences that in turn create a great Main Street district. Main Street’s advantage is its authenticity and its ability to provide a landscape for unique and personalized experiences. Main Street epitomizes the “Buy Local” trend that mass retailers are trying to emulate.
Without a selection of strong Main Street stores providing memorable and convenient experiences (in person and on-line) along with outstanding customer service, there’s too little standing in the way of losing shoppers to the internet and flashy new lifestyle centers. We’ll share the foundations that will help both retailers and the district as a whole sharpen their focus on where and how best to compete within a constantly changing retail environment.
What to evaluate or where and how to make changes remains elusive to retailers. Best practices for districtwide and store specific technical design, coupled with a greater understanding of shopper expectations and behavior, positions businesses for increased enjoyment, loyalty, and sales from their shoppers. This 120-minute presentation will cover:

•Your District as a Store – where does the experience begin? Who creates it?
•SHOW vs TELL – Activating the storefront with signage, lighting, paint selection and sidewalk activation
•Powerful Windows – How to define and create them
•Lighting – appropriate styles and locations of lights as a sales tool for both the store AND the district
•Where Does Your Store Start? Seeing your store from the street and from the internet
•Best Practices at Retail – Deconstructing big budget concepts for small budgets & small footprints
•Leveraging Shopper Behavior – Creating path-makers, encouraging exploration & merchandising 360
•COVID adaptations contrasted against traditional best practices
•Retail Metrics – Capturing numbers to learn, live, and grow by
