Mornings on Main with Steve Etcher and Christine Johnston
Wednesday, July 8 at 8:30AM

Natural disasters, financial collapse, civil unrest, and pandemics can devastate businesses and the communities where they are located. Economic disruptions are likely during a business life cycle, so preparing for and anticipating these events will help business survive uncertain times. This webinar will discuss a host of elements that need to be considered when preparing businesses for potential disruptions and helping communities create a resilient economy. This webinar will be presented by Steve Etcher and Christine Johnston from MarksNelson.

Steve has been working with economic development organizations for more than 30 years. After spending his early years working directly for community organizations, he recognized the opportunity to support multiple communities by identifying the needs and solutions that spread across municipalities. At that point, he helped found Community EDGE, an organization created to meet economic development and location strategy needs faced by many community organizations. Steve has spent countless hours advising organizations on how to support the growth of their community, partner with businesses, access resources, plan and respond to natural disasters, and more.

Christine Johnston, CPA, CGMA, CMA, leads a team of accounting professionals to provide audit, tax, and consulting services with a focus on the commercial real estate industry. She specializes in guiding developers and economic development organizations through available incentives and financing to support real estate projects in affordable housing (LIHTC) and historic preservation (HTC). She has been an active member of Missouri Main Street Connection for 3 years.
