About Main Street Chillicothe

In Chillicothe, we believe that our past is the pavement to our future. That's why we've invested heavily in making our historic Main Street a vibrant and growing part of our community. Beautiful historic buildings mix with new, contemporary developments to create a city that is modern, yet true to its roots.

Since Main Street Chillicothe came into being in 2000, we have been working hard to bring real, tangible benefits to our community. In addition to providing ongoing support for businesses, the following are highlights of the work we've done to improve downtown Chillicothe:

• Led design and construction of Silver Moon Plaza
• Commissioned 17 Murals & 2 Ghost Signs
• Awarded over 30 Facade Grants for Building Renovation
• Worked with area business owners to add seasonal planters and hanging floral baskets
• Led project to draw attention to downtown historic buildings through a plaque program
• Purchase, hang and maintain the downtown Christmas lights
• Partnered with other organizations to create a unified Brand and Identity for the community
• Organized countless events

Mission
The focus of Main Street Chillicothe is to enhance the vitality of the downtown by preservation of its architectural, commercial, and cultural heritage. These objectives are accomplished through education and community awareness of resources available to property and business owners. Main Street Chillicothe stimulates economic development through its design, economic restructuring, and organization committees, and promotes Chillicothe as an attractive city in which to shop, dine, play, work, and live.

Through community partnerships, Downtown Chillicothe strives to be a unique destination, engaging residents and visitors alike, where history is celebrated while supported businesses flourish.
